Constraint-Based DSL for Computer Network Monitoring
October 2009
SalgueiroA2009:sdia
Network Monitoring and Intrusion Detection Systems play an important role in today’s computer network health, allowing the diagnosis and detection of anomalous situations on the network that could damage the performance and put the security of user data at risk, if not detected or diagnosed in time to take any necessary measures. In this paper we present a novel approach to network monitoring, intrusion detection, a Domain Specific Language (DSL) based on constraint programming that allows a declarative description of the desirable network situations and based on that description, a set of paremetrizations for network monitoring programs.
