National award for AI graduation projects
Celebrating 50 years of Artificial Intelligence, the Portuguese association for Artificial Intelligence -
APPIA
- created in 2006 the National Award for Artificial Intelligence graduation projects -
TleIA
2006 - having the purpose of distinguishing projects of merit of 3 to 5 year undergraduate courses.
Twelve submissions were accepted, under strict anonymity, evaluated by a national jury of 19 PhDs. The latter awarded the TLeIA prize to

, from DI/FCT/UNL and a member of CENTRIA, which submitted "Uma Abordagem Computacional à Consciência Introspectiva usando Programação em Lógica - Projecto ACORDA" (A computational approach to the introspective consistency, using logic programming - ACORDA project), a final project 5-year undergraduate course supervised by the Professor
Luís Moniz Pereira
, who gave it the top mark.
