CENTRIA seminar: Time and context: a declarative approach

Main informationBy: Vitor Nogueira (CENTRIA)

Date: Wednesday, 3rd of March 2010, 14h00

Location: FCT/UNL, Seminar Room (Ed. II)
AbstractContextual Logic Programming (CxLP) is a simple yet powerful language that extends logic programming with mechanisms for modularity and object orientation. Temporal CxLP deeply integrates modularity with temporal reasoning making the usage of a module time dependent. In this talk besides presenting CxLP and its temporal extension we also illustrate how it can be used to develop and maintain temporal organization information systems. Finally, we discuss several possible developments including the construction of context-aware pervasive systems.
Short-bioVitor Nogueira is Assistant Professor at the Computer Science Department of the University of Évora. He is member of the research centers for Artificial Intelligence — CENTRIA (UNL) and in Information Technology - CITI (UE).

He holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Évora. Before that, he obtained a MSc in Applied Artificial Intelligence at the New University of Lisbon and graduated in Computer Science at the University of Porto.
