He's a managing partner at Declarativa (a software developer specializing in declarative generation of web applications); he's also an Invited Associate Professor at Universidade do Minho's Information Systems Dept. Miguel is an Electrical Engineer (1984, University of Porto), and holds a PhD in Computer Science (1992, New University of Lisbon). He won the IBM Portugal Science Prize in 1990, and was also awarded in Microsoft Portugal's Software Contest in 2000, in the Internet category. He has founded four Information Technology companies over the last decade.
